Family members must find ways to cope with the suffering and possible loss of their loved one, and in most cases suffer severe financial impact. Candlelighters of Brevard has long been devoted to serving the needs and improving the quality of life for children diagnosed with cancer and their family members. The many programs and services provided by Candlelighters are all designed to fulfill our mission.
Dedicated staff members who have experienced the diagnosis of childhood cancer offer emotional support and financial assistance to our Candlelighters families through our extensive programs and services. Social gatherings and family outings replace the traditional support group meetings. Our amazing Candlelighters families wholeheartedly participate in much needed get-away trips to Disney Theme Parks & Sea World, baseball games, family retreats, our annual “Celebration of Life” picnic and Christmas Party.

We offer our support and services to every Brevard County family,
without regard to race, religion, choice of physician or healthcare facility.
One hundred percent of our proceeds benefit children of Brevard County, Florida.
Family Programs & Services
Treatment Center Allotment Fund: A large portion of funds raised by Candlelighters of Brevard is provided to our families to pay for the exorbitant costs of food, gas, tolls and transportation to and from cancer centers & hospitals during crucial treatments times.
Home Away from Home: Family members are able to remain close to their loved ones during hospital stays at Ronald McDonald Houses or similar facilities at no cost to the family.
Utility Assistance Program: This program is designed to help pay utility bills.
Prescription Drug Program: Families are reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses for prescription medication for the child with cancer as well as antibiotics occasionally required for their siblings.
Angel Car Care Program: Repair services and automotive parts are provided to our families who travel many miles seeking answers and treatment for their children. This program was founded by the Nelson Family,
Coastal Mitsubishi/Hyundai and Cocoa Hyundai Dealers.
Christina Harker Memorial Counseling Services: Counseling sessions with licensed therapists are offered to all family members to work through the many issues associated with childhood cancer.
Angel Fund: A one-time financial donation is given to families who have suffered the agonizing loss of a child.
Rebecca Wolfe Memorial Fund: In memory of the children who lose their battle to cancer, a native Florida tree is donated and planted on the first anniversary of their passing.
Platinum Coast Orchid Society "Get You There" Program : Providing pre-paid gas cards to help alleviate the costs of out of county trips. This program is underwritten by the Orchid Society.
